During the M23 conference, the song “Sisi Wenyewe,” popular in Rwanda, was unexpectedly sung, leading many on social media to claim that M23 is made up of Rwandans. Although the song is sung in Swahili, a language widely spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Grenade Kills 4, Others Injured During the Conference:
While the M23 conference was taking place at the Bukavu stadium, a grenade exploded, killing four people and injuring many others. It was reported that the grenade was detonated by individuals who had hidden it in a popcorns bag, which caused panic and many people fled the scene in fear.
Many were shocked by what happened, with some running for safety.
