Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared that he will never accept any agreements that could jeopardize his country, following Donald Trump’s proposal to leverage Ukraine’s natural resources for the benefit of the United States.
During a press conference, Zelensky revealed that Trump wanted Ukraine to allow the U.S. to control 50% of its rare earth minerals, including lithium and titanium, as a way to secure Ukraine’s protection. “I cannot sell my country. I protect Ukraine,” Zelensky stated firmly.
Financial and Aid Concerns:
Zelensky also highlighted the staggering cost of the war in Ukraine, which has so far amounted to $320 billion. Of this, $120 billion was covered by Ukraine itself, while the remaining $200 billion came from international donors, including the United States and European countries.
He questioned the accuracy of the figures provided by the U.S., which claims that 90% of Ukraine’s aid comes from America. According to Zelensky, the U.S. has provided $67 billion in weapons and financial support so far.
Disputes Over Misinformation:
The Ukrainian President dismissed claims made by Trump that his approval rating among Ukrainian citizens was only 4%, attributing such misinformation to Russian propaganda. In contrast, Zelensky pointed to recent surveys showing his approval rating at 58%, demonstrating strong domestic support for his leadership.

A Call for Transparency:
Zelensky urged Donald Trump’s envoy, Kith Kellogg, to visit Kyiv and tour the country to see the reality on the ground instead of relying on “misleading” reports. He even expressed his willingness to accompany Kellogg to the frontlines of the war to showcase the ongoing situation firsthand.

Zelensky’s Stand:
“I will not sign any agreements that do not benefit Ukraine as a nation. We must continue to protect the sovereignty of our country,” President Zelensky emphasized, reaffirming his commitment to defending Ukraine against external and internal pressures.
