On the afternoon of Thursday, November 28, 2024, Prime Minister Dr. Ngirente Edouard received in his office the British Ambassador to Rwanda, Alison Thorpe.
The Prime Minister’s Office announced that the two leaders discussed relations and cooperation between the two countries.
A message posted on X’s former Twitter account reads: “Today, Prime Minister Dr. Ngirente received Mrs. Alison Thorpe, the British ambassador to Rwanda, to discuss improving relations and cooperation between Rwanda and England.”
The talks were also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Amb Olivier Nduhungirehe.
The UK supports various projects in Rwanda through the UK Department for International Development (DFID).
Supporting institutions include education, agriculture, social welfare, trade and investment.
The UK also supports the Rwandan Peace Academy by providing training for soldiers, police and civilians who have gone on UN and UN peacekeeping missions.
