On Friday night, BK Arena hosted a spectacular concert by John Legend, attended by thousands of Rwandans, including President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame. The event, organized in partnership with Global Citizen and RDB, was part of the Move Afrika initiative, aimed at promoting music and tourism in Africa.
John Legend took to the stage around 9 PM, captivating the audience with his popular hits such as All of Me, Ordinary People, and Tonight. The crowd joined in, singing along, showcasing the deep connection the Rwandan people have with his music.
President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame were among the distinguished guests, demonstrating their support for music and cultural initiatives that contribute to the country’s development. President Kagame took a moment to greet those present at BK Arena, highlighting the importance of music and entertainment in shaping the country’s positive image on the global stage. This concert marked the second event in Rwanda under the Move Afrika program, following last year’s performance by Kendrick Lamar. Rwanda continues to establish itself as a prime destination for major events, offering opportunities for tourism, cultural exchange, and entertainment development.
