At a time when Rwanda is being placed on the list of supporters of M23, who claim to be the ones supplying them with weapons, there are also reports of more than 4,000 RDF soldiers in Congo, as reported by the international community and Congo’s claims in general.
Today, in the afternoon, the leader of the M23 fighters, Corneille Nanga Yobeluo, announced that the equipment they are using did not come from Rwanda, and they have decided to halt their operations.
He said: “We are grateful to Felix Tshisekedi, who provided us with the equipment we are using, which has helped us reach Kinshasa.”
He continued: “Currently, we have over 14 tons of ammunition. FARDC has not been able to secure it. We have 15 tons of weapons, including 3 aircraft, which are Sukhoi and 2 Kajugujugu planes. We also have more than 346 Toyota Land Cruisers, over 270 motorcycles, and more than 4,500 other vehicles and equipment.”
He concluded: “Our advance will continue until we reach Kinshasa.”
